KTM recalls 7,000 dirtbikes to fix throttle cable

WASHINGTON, D.C. – In cooperation with the Consumer Product Safety Commission, KTM North America is recalling 13 models of KTM and Husaberg dirtbikes.

During use, the throttle cable can malfunction, resulting in an uncontrollable throttle.

No incidents or injuries have been reported. The potential number of units affected is about 7,000.

Eleven 2013 KTM models are being recalled: the 85 SX, 85 SXS, 125 SX, 150 SX, 150 XC, 200 XC-W, 250 SX, 250 XC, 250 XC-W, 300 XC and 300 XC-W.

Two 2012 and 2013 Husaberg models are being recalled: the TE 250 and TE 300.

Consumers are being advised to stop using the recalled vehicles and contact a KTM or Husaberg dealer to schedule a free repair.
